Gun Control

I am sick of the hypocritical liberals touting gun control. It’s an issue of control. They want it and we don’t want to give it to them. Well, some of us anyway. The grown up hippies, in Washington, have been working on changing our utopia into their utopia forth last 50 years. That’s right. The dope smoking looters of the late 60’s didn’t go away. They went into government.2ndAmendmentFBbanner

To them I have this to say;

Our founding fathers were smarter than you think. They put together a founding document on one page that set forth the most free nation in human history. Looking to the future they saw that the constitution wasn’t enough. They saw that any sensible man would read the constitution and see everything he would need to know about how to govern the country. They knew that few politicians were sensible people. So they set out to enumerate some rights that government could never touch.

They started with the reason people started coming here. The freedom to worship the way you choose to and the right to express your opinion without fear of the government. Then to back that up they gave America the amendment that made sure it’s people would have the means to defend themselves against a government that would take those rights away. They had just fought a war for the sake of freedom and they wanted to make sure Americans would be able to retain those hard won rights. Having the right to bare arms come second was no accident and gives no room for comment. The words “…shall not be infringed” pretty much sums that up.

So the argument comes down to this, if I give you my guns I am giving you control over every aspect of my life as well as the power to redefine my country. Last time I checked this was the land of the FREE. Not the land of the helpless peasants waiting for the government to tell me how to live my life.Bottom line, I don’t want you in my life. You are there to serve the people, not the other way around.

I took an oath to protect and defend the constitution. I may not have been in my entire adult life but that oath meant something to me. I took it seriously. I still do. There was never one single sentence stating a time limit and I will not entertain an argument about it. Any action to ban my firearms is illegal and I will not obey any unlawful order. I will not turn in my arms, I will not assist in taking away anyone’s firearms, and I will not allow anyone to take them from me. End of story.
