We are, as we speak, working on the new Crusader Website. It’s going to be great. I’ve already looked at the model for it and it has a good clean look to it. I’m really proud of the work my guys have put into this and I hope you’ll all visit us at CrusaderWeaponry.com .

We’re still waiting to release our full rifles because of some technicalities. The easiest way for us to overcome that was the release of the completed uppers I’ve been raving about. I’m really excited about this and what it means to all of us here at Crusader. I could never say it better than my friend at madogre.com so to quote the OGRE:

I get asked all the time a simple question. Why would I buy a Crusader? The answer is simple. We are building the very best rifle possible. Those doing the actual building of these arms are not just someone shown how to assemble parts. That’s not good enough. These rifles are crafted by master gunsmiths who hand fit each and every part, making sure each component is flawless in construction… meticulous in detail… and who ask themselves our own very simple question. “Is this good enough that I would take this weapon to the fight?” If the answer is no – then that rifle is not yet a Crusader. We will not release anything that we would not ourselves fight with. Why would we? To make a buck? Hell no. We’ll let the other guys do that. We strive to be better than that… we strive for perfection.

Partisan Not every one can afford the extravagance of our other rifles. This is the one rifle we will make for the little guy.

We will also have Hats, Shirts, Hoodies, and other assorted Crusader Goodies to order soon.

That’s right more big names following our rifles and I had to write a quick post to say thanks. Here are the new companies following us: Gander Mtn, Cheaper Than Dirt, the Outdoor Channel, and BlackwaterUSA (XE). Thanks much and we will do our best to take care of you.

I’d also like to say thanks to all the firearm trainers, gun shops, and individuals following our progress. We appreciate each and every one of you.

CRUSADER ARMORY...come join the legend.

CRUSADER WEAPONRY...come join the legend.

It’s been a lot of work getting ready to release our rifles and I’d like to thank you for your patience. We have our rifle line all planned out and waiting for paperwork so we can begin building them and getting them out to the public. While we’re awaiting paperwork we will be releasing our upper assemblies for a period of pre-orders.

Specs on the uppers and all orders will only be available at We The Armed and only for registered users of the forum. I’m doing it this way for a couple reasons. One to help out my friends over at We The Armed. It’s a great forum full of knowledgeable people. Second to keep the orders all in one place until our website is up.

I hope to see all of you over at We The Armed we have great discussions over there and I’d be honored to build an upper or two for you.

Today I had a bit of exciting news. I’ve been using Twitter to further our cause here (so if any of you are on there come see our updates there as well) with Crusader Weaponry. We’ve had an explosion of followers in the last two days. A couple I’m happy to report is Front Sight training center and even Ignatius Piazza, owner of Front Sight, himself keeping track of our updates and hopefully awaiting our release date. I have to admit I’m exctied and honored to have them checking in on us.

It just keeps getting better.

Well, I was able to get the Templar model ready much earlier than I thought. That being said we will be producing all of our 5.56mm rifles. We’ll have 6.8 SPC and .308 down the road.

I try to stay out of politics here. Once in a while, though, I just can’t keep my mouth shut. My rant today, cap and trade.

Here goes…cap and trade, REALLY? Are you kidding me? Our government is seriously considering taxing us for simply living our lives? I already pay a tax at the gas pump and now you want to tax me for what comes out of the tail pipe, among other things? I’m sorry (no I’m not) but every senator or congressman that is even considering  this much ride the short bus to work. I know go ahead and rail me for not being politically correct. I didn’t intend to be. Want to know why? Because cap and trade is FREAK’N STUPIDThis is the same policy they have tried in other countries and their carbon emissions have actually increased. Did you catch that? In other countries it not only didn’t stop emissions it increased them.

Folks, please join me in calling or email your represenatives and tell them to not pass this new tax bill.

You all know I highly respect John Farnam and I appreciate his writings. This one I wanted to post because of the underline meaning here. The last couple sentences says it all. I really do think Obama and his corrupt administration has abandoned one of our allies. Israel is the wrong ally to turn a blind eye to. France, ok I could understand because of their lukewarm approach to everything. Israel who is in the middle of the terrorist sponsoring nations and who our enemies like Iran has voiced their desire to wipe off the face of the earth? That is beyond reproach.

I am glad to hear that they are aloud to openly carry for their own protection.

News from Israel, from an American Soldier who just returned from R&R
there:

“The fact that Israel is a country surrounded by terrorism-supporting
states was immediately evident upon my arrival!

Israeli citizens are openly armed, routinely, carrying handguns and
military rifles, in public.  No one cares about being ‘low-profile’ in  Israel!

I saw lots of Czech CZs and G19s.  The rifle I saw carried most by
civilians was the M1 Carbine!

Military and Police all carry American-made M4s.  Most manual safeties  I
saw were in the ‘off’ position.  I don’t know if rounds were chambered or
not, but I suspect not.  In Israel, they like carrying with chambers  empty.
Finger/trigger discipline was poor!

Security personnel are everywhere, even at entrances to restaurants and
hotels.

Photographing police officers and military personnel, and installations, is
 strictly prohibited.

Service in the IDF is mandatory for all young Israelis, starting at the age
of seventeen.  I observed many extremely young-looking IDF personnel, men
and women, all carrying M4s in public.

Locals I talked with were extremely concerned about what they perceive as
abject abandonment by the USA and its current Administration.”

Comment: Free men bear arms.  Let it always be so in Israel, and here!

Thanks for reading folks.

I know there are a lot of you waiting for the word go on our new line of AR-15’s. Trust me I’m working as fast as I can. I do, however, want to let you in on our production plan. We are preparingto introduce a base model, a 16″ tactical, 20″ tactical, and a 24″ designated marksman model. We will release our 5.56mm rifles our first year. Our next move will be a line of 6.8 SPC rifles. They will be ready to go in our second year.

I also have some ideas for training. Come train with us, use our rifles, get addicted to our rifles, and by all means have a discount on buying one. As soon as we get things running well enough the training curriculum and schedule will be established and announced.

Stay tuned for more information. Know that I’m putting together the best rifles anyone has ever done and watch for specials as well as preorder announcements.

I really like John Farnam. He has a wealth of information in areas I will readily admit I have little or no experience in. I’m just glad I’m able to borrow his wisdom and share it with you.

Police Fratricide

With large departments, and with departments that are spread out over large
areas (like state police), fratricide is an sticky issue.

Within small departments, most members know each other personally, but when
department membership numbers in the thousands, it is not unusual for
officers  to spend an entire thirty-year career and still meet other long-time
members of  the department, for the first time, on their last day of work!

Fratricide rears its ugly head when members of the same department, or
other LEOs working in the same area, confront each other with weapons in hand,
and at least one is not in uniform.  Under these circumstances, LEOs have
been mistakenly shot to death, and many others have been shot at.

It is a world-wide problem, but only in America do we look to technology,
rather than training.

NYPD, in the wake of several high-profile incidents of fratricide, has
asked a technology company to design a system whereby “radio-frequency tags”
(whatever that means) would be installed on police guns.  In theory, these
tags would allow officers to know where other officers are.

Much is being made of this idea, even though the technology doesn’t
currently exist, and no officer with more than a week on the job would ever  trust
such a system anyway.  It is reminiscent of the ill-fated,
long-discredited “safe-gun” technology that was, under the Clinton  Administration,
miraculously going to eliminate gun accidents.  No such  “safe guns” were ever
produced, nor marketed.  The whole ridiculous idea  fell into well-deserved
ill-repute.

Then, as now, “safe guns” are little more than a wet-dream of leftist
techno-geeks, none of whom have ever so much as touched a real gun in their
sheltered lives!   Time and effort spent on this fool’s errand has  been, and
continues to be, a waste.

The correct way to address the issues of (1) negligent discharges, (2)
unintentional hits, and (3) fratricide is through reinvigorated training.
Officers need to be trained as Professional Gunmen who are not taught to be
afraid of guns.  They need to spend lots of time on the range under the
tutelage of professional instructors who insist on sound tactics, suburb
marksmanship, and correct gun-handling.

Departments with a casual attitude toward training will continue to have
high incidents of gun accidents, even fratricide, until training is given the
attention it deserves. The public, and officers themselves, need to insist
on  it.

No miracle-gadget will save them!
