This quote was posted on We The Armed. It is very appropriate to our work on here and thought it needed to be posted. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
Wear a gun to someone else’s house, you’re saying, ‘I’ll defend this home as if it were my own.’ When your guests see you carry a weapon, you’re telling them, ‘I’ll defend you as if you were my own family.’ And anyone who objects levels the deadliest insult possible: ‘I don’t trust you unless you’re rendered harmless’!
L. Neil Smith, The Probability Broach
I’d like to say a hardy HAPPY THANKSGIVING to everyone from not just myself but from the whole FBMG staff. I would also like to say that I am thankful to all of you for reading and bringing the success this blog has seen this year. So, for this Thanksgiving I’m thankful for all of you.
The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in defense. (waiting for attack)
The sword is more important than the shield, and skill is more important than either. The final weapon is the brain. All else is supplemental.
1. Don’t pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he’ll just kill you.
2. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.
3. I carry a gun cause a cop is too heavy.
4. When seconds count, the cops are just minutes away.
5. A reporter did a human-interest piece on the Texas Rangers. The reporter recognized the Colt Model 1911 the Ranger was carrying and asked him ‘Why do you carry a 45?’ The Ranger responded, ‘Because they don’t make a 46.’
6. The old sheriff was attending an awards dinner when a lady commented on his wearing his sidearm. ‘Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you expecting trouble?’ ‘No Ma’am. If I were expecting trouble, I would have brought my shotgun.’
7. Beware the man who only has one gun. HE PROBABLY KNOWS HOW TO USE IT!!!
But wait, there’s more!
I was once asked by a lady visiting if I had a gun in the house. I said I did. She said ‘Well, I certainly hope it isn’t loaded!’ To which I said, ‘of course it is loaded, can’t work without bullets!’ She then asked, ‘Are you that afraid of someone evil coming into your house?’ My reply was, ‘No not at all. I am not afraid of the house catching fire either, but I have fire extinguishers around, and they are all loaded too.’ To which I’ll add, having a gun in the house that isn’t loaded is like having a car in the garage without gas in the tank.
Oh, and don’t forget to pass it on.
I read a great post on DoubleTapper today. I couldn’t help sharing it with you. For those of you who aren’t familiar with him DoubleTapper is a gentleman in Israel, keeps a very good blog, and is a member of the IDF (so he knows what he’s talking about). We read each others blogs and though we’ve never met I consider the man my friend. We’ve gone back and forth through email some and I know him to be a good man.
The post I wanted to share came from an email he receive from a reader. It has to do with guns and gun choices in today’s political climate here in the U.S. so I thought it would be relevant for you to see as well.
If you haven’t already been introduced to the jewel that is CZ USA here is your opportunity. I’ve been looking at them for a couple years now and taking opinions from those that own them. They’re made in the Czech Republic and I’ve haven’t been anything but impressed with everything CZ USA makes. They are extremely well built. The CZ 550 rifles have beautiful walnutor heavy duty Kevlar (not plastic) stocks.
They also make some fantastic precision rifles that I’ll let you visit the website to see.
CZ USA also makes one of the most widely used pistols in European militaries. The CZ 75 is a great. My favorite is the SP-01. With it’s all but perfect grip geometry, it’s all steal construction, and rust resistant Polycoat finish who wouldn’t love it? CZ accomplishes all this at a price around $500 depending on model.

CZ SP-01
So, if you haven’t taken the time to look at CZ products here is your invitation.
I think we all know by now that Barack Obama is now the president elect. Now I don’t care who you voted for and am not going to go into that. Now is the time to step up to the plate. We know Obama is no friend to the gun community. Now is the time to pull together on a unified front. No more of this Democrat or Republican crap. Both parties can take a flying leap as far as I’m concerned. We have to be ready at a moments notice to call and write our Representatives and to write the White House. We all know that it is a matter of time before an anti-gun bill is introduced. We all know Obama is waiting to sign it. Now is the time to start a grass roots campaign to let our Representatives know that we won’t stand for an anti-gun bill in any form. So, I’ll get off my soap box now and let each of you choose for yourselves. That’s what makes this country great. We have the GOD given right to choose. So let’s keep a hold of that.
I have to say I’m honored. I had no idea this was going on. Thanks for all your support.
